Microvi’s CEO to Speak at Bioeconomy Conference

Oct. 27, 2015 – Microvi’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Fatemeh Shirazi, will be a featured speaker at the ABLCNext 2015 conference next week.

The conference, which focuses on advanced bioeconomy technologies and is billed as the largest meeting of bioeconomy leadership on the West Coast, will be held Nov. 2-5 in San Francisco.

Dr. Shirazi will be speaking on day two of the conference about the paradigm shifts enabled by Microvi’s innovative MicroNiche Engineering™ platform, which provides more reliable and cost-effective methods to produce biofuels and biobased chemicals.

“I am excited to present about the state of our industry,” Shirazi said. “Microvi’s technologies and experiences over the past seven years have much to offer in planning the strategic direction of the biobased economy.”

Microvi’s bio-ethanol technology was recently validated in a collaborative project with the Advanced Biofuels Process Demonstration Unit at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. That collaboration showed Microvi’s technology achieved breakthrough improvements ethanol production. Similarly, the company has a number of demonstration and commercial projects in progress.
